In today's time, everyone is going crazy about fast or junk food. Nowadays people have started giving less importance to nutritious food. Everyone, from children to adults, needs an excuse to eat junk food. Everyone is well aware of the harm caused by junk food, but in spite of this the consumption of this thing is not coming down. Several studies have shown that fast food and processed foods have led to an increase in childhood obesity, heart disease and diabetes and other diseases. Excess calories present in fast-food cause weight gain. It can be the cause of obesity. This increases the risk for many types of respiratory problems, including asthma and shortness of breath. Excess weight can put pressure on your heart. This can make you feel uncomfortable walking, climbing stairs or exercising. The risk of respiratory problems increases, especially for children. One study found that children who eat fast food at least three times a week are more likely to have asthma.

1. Fast food can cause depression: - Excess intake of fast food and processed foods can increase your risk for depression. This happens because excessive intake of junk food causes the body's hormonal balance to deteriorate. Due to which there can be a problem of depression.

2. Consuming junk food is the cause of acne: - Foods like junk food can affect your skin, but you may be aware of them. Chocolate and other fast foods are attributed to acne. Carbs in fast food can cause acne. Carb-heavy fast foods like french fries, hamburger buns and potato chips can be the cause of acne breakouts.

3. The cause of tooth decay is junk food: - Carbs and sugar present in fast food produce acids which can destroy tooth enamel . Apart from this, they can also cause cavities.

5. Fast food causes high blood pressure: - Sodium can also be dangerous for people with high blood pressure. Sodium can increase your blood pressure and put stress on your heart and cardiovascular system. According to one study, nearly 90 percent of adults did not know how much sodium is in their fast-food diet. A study surveyed 993 adults and found that their estimate was six times the actual number (1,292 mg). The American Heart Association forbids adults to eat more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium per day.

6. Increased fat loss of fast food: - Excess calories can be the cause of overweight. An increase in calories without exercise can lead to obesity. Obesity can result in shortness of breath. However, if you feel that you are eating healthy, then you cannot underestimate the number of calories. This can cause weight gain inadvertently.

7. Fast food is the cause of high cholesterol: - Fried foods are full of trans fats. These fats are known to increase LDL cholesterol levels. No amount of trans fat is good or healthy. Consumption of such foods can increase your LDL cholesterol and lower HDL cholesterol and increase the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

8. Junk food can cause diabetes: - Sugar level in fast food can cause blood sugar to rise. It can also alter the body's natural insulin response. Most fast foods are full of carbohydrates and do not contain any fiber. When your digestive system breaks down these foods, they are released as glucose in your bloodstream. As a result, your blood sugar rises. Your pancreas increases glucose by releasing insulin. Therefore, high intake of fast food can be harmful to your digestive and heart health
